Study for teams operating production AI agents

Did the agent improve a business outcome, or just complete tasks?

This study joins one repeated class of actions by a production agent to an external business outcome. It supports a real decision to scale, restrict, renew, or further instrument that workflow.

Current participants

Who should apply

Technical owner

Someone accountable for the production agent, evaluation, or technical rollout.

  • AI or engineering lead
  • Product owner
  • Agent platform or evaluation owner

Business function owner

Someone accountable for the external business KPI affected by the workflow.

  • Revenue, conversion, or retention
  • Collections or customer resolution
  • Operating cost or processing time

Workflow operator

Someone directly operating or evaluating the production workflow.

  • Operations owner
  • Evaluation operator
  • Business process operator

Agency agent operator

An agency operator running production agents for commercial client work.

  • Commercial client workflow
  • Client KPI responsibility
  • Client rollout or renewal decision

Recent event

What must have happened

A production agent must have performed repeated commercial work or work that changes costs. External outcome evidence must have affected rollout, permissions, budget, model choice, or renewal within the past 90 days.

  • The agent is in production and affects external users or a real operating process.
  • An external business KPI exists outside the agent trace.
  • A real rollout, permission, budget, model, or renewal decision occurred.

Operating business

The workflow must already be in use and affect a real decision

The business or workflow must already be in use, have repeated activity, and affect a real decision. You should also be able to describe what you tried and what remained unresolved.

The agent must already be in production, perform repeated work, and affect a business result outside its own trace.

  • Production history can be placed in a range.
  • Approximate monthly action volume and affected users or cases can be estimated.
  • The workflow affects external users or a real business process.

This is not for prototypes, hypothetical situations, or people without firsthand involvement in the event.

Who we're interviewing in this round

US business context is required

The participant must currently work in the United States or own or manage a US-based business, and the qualifying event must have involved US operations, customers, revenue, or budget.

Takes approximately 4–6 minutes. Do not submit credentials or raw data.

Separate commissioned study

Agent Outcome Baseline

$2,500

Within five business days of receiving usable data, you receive:

  1. 01A join between one class of agent actions and one agreed business KPI.
  2. 02Coverage and latency between actions and outcomes.
  3. 03Comparisons by agent, model, policy, version, or cohort where supported.
  4. 04Failure modes and confounders preventing a defensible conclusion.
  5. 05A decision brief: scale, restrict, instrument further, or leave unchanged.

The baseline does not claim causality where no control or comparison exists. If identifiers cannot support the agreed join, the fee is refunded.

This is optional paid work after the interview. We would agree on the scope and required records before it begins.

If you later commission a study

We’ll agree on the minimum records before any work begins

Normally required:

  • Agent action or trace records with timestamps and stable identifiers.
  • Model, policy, or workflow version where available.
  • The external conversion, retention, collection, resolution, or cost event.
  • An existing control, comparison, or baseline from before the agent where available.
  • The rollout or budget decision the result will enter.

Sensitive trace content can be minimized or transformed before transfer.

After the commissioned study

I’ll ask what changed

After the decision meeting, I ask whether permissions, rollout, model, policy, instrumentation, or budget changed and whether the baseline should be repeated.
